A police officer shot and killed a man in Lord’s Bank.  The police blotter stated that at around 12:41am, Lady Ville Police responded to a fight at Ruba Bar, in the Lord’s Bank Area. When arriving at the scene, police saw a male person, who they were told had a gun. The man was riding away from the location. The report states that the person pulled out a black object which appeared to be a gun, from his waist.  One officer, fearing for his life, then opened fire; the suspect, they say, continued riding until he fell off his bicycle to the ground.  The police report also claimed that the deceased who was identified as O’Neil Jones also known as “Jew”, was searched and on him police say they found a homemade gun made from bicycle parts.  And while that’s the police report;o ne eyewitness said that she heard two shots which contradicts with the police officers statements that he fired three shots. And the officer, who the witness said did the shooting, is not the officer who is claiming to be responsible for the shooting. According to other eyewitnesses, there was indeed a conflict at Ruba bar; reports are that a man was threatening to shoot people and that is when Ladyville police were called.  Two police officers responded, and when arriving at the scene, O’Neil Jones told police that the person they were looking for just left and then he jumped on his bicycle and rode off.  A woman who was in the area heard what O’Neil told the cops and she was the person who told police that O’Neil was in fact the culprit.  Police went in pursuit of O’Neil and then shots were heard. As is customary when there’s a shooting involving a police officer, an intensive investigation is being carried out.
