Today, 34 yr old Andrea O’Conner, her sister, 32 yr old Kimberly Haulze and their friend, 36-year-old Kerion Daley, were arraigned in Belize City Magistrate’s Court on a string of charges. The trio were jointly charged for causing unlawful harm upon a student of St. Martin’s de Pores School. The sisters were jointly charged with one count each of assaulting a police officer, Woman Sergeant Irma Anderson. Haulze alone was charged with an additional two counts of common assault upon two other students. In court, represented by Arthur Saldivar, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges levied against them. Saldivar begged the court to be lenient on his clients and submitted that the three clients are law abiding citizen and had never been before the court until today. The charges against the trio came as a result of a report made by a Teacher at St. Martin De Pores School, Daisy Aba, who told police that on Tuesday afternoon, she was inside her classroom along with her office assistant and her students, when Kimberly Haulze, Andrea O’Conner and their friend, Kerion Daley stormed into her classroom. Aba said that Haulze approached her and accused her of making her 12 yr old son clean the school compound. Aba said she tried to explain to the mother the situation but that’s when Haulze older sister, O’Conner attacked her and tried to punch her, but her office assistant intervened. The teacher told police that it was at that moment that Haulze became outraged and began to push around the desks in the class room causing one of them to hit two of her students. The trio then chased the children in the classroom and that’s when Daley pushed 2 of the students to the ground. Police officers, who were called out to the chaotic scene on the school compound included Woman Sgt. Irma Anderson and PC Leroy Flowers, who managed to detain the trio. It was during the time of their arrest that Daley is accused of assaulting PC Leroy Flowers and the sisters assaulted the woman police officer. The prosecutor had no objection to bail against the three accused and Magistrate Ford offered them bail. The sisters were granted bail of 1 thousand BZD each plus one surety of the same amount while Daley was offered a lesser bail of 600 BZD plus one surety of the same amount. Daley was then taken into Court #6 before Magistrate Sharon Frazer where he was slapped with additional charges of two counts of common assault upon two other students he pushed to the ground and one count of assaulting PC Leroy Flowers. For those 3 offenses Daley was offered another bail and he is due back in court on March 26th. While there are always 2 sides to a story, before Kimberly Haulze was arraigned in court, she said that she only went to the school for information. Haulze said that her son, a standard 5 student complained about being bullied by Standard six boys at the school. Haulze maintain that at no time did she go there to cause any trouble.
