It’s not your typical robbery, but yesterday, a ministry of works workman who was conducting road works, grading the Young gal Road in Tea Kettle Village was held up at gun point and robbed of his heaviest and most costly piece of equipment, the government grader which is worth over 300 thousand dollars. Dwayne Arthurs who operated the grader at the time of the incident said that it was 3 Hispanic men who held him up. Arthurs who did not wish to speak with us on camera said that the gunmen surrounded the grader and ordered him to drive 100 yards into nearby bushes. Arthurs was tied up and robbed of personal items and then left in the bushes. We spoke with chief Engineer Lennox Bradley in the ministry of works who said that after this incident, the MOW plans on strengthening workers security while out in the field. If you have any information regarding the government grader, contact your nearest police station or the Ministry of Works.
