This Wednesday was the first day of the Social Security Math Olympiad for 2010. The first session was held in Dangriga where last year’s first and second place winners retained their places this year. It was a tight competition, but Ecumenical High School was the first place winner in the end with 1,550 points. 2nd place winners were the students of Julian Cho with 1500 points. The competition continues next week Wednesday in Belmopan at the UB gymnasium for the Western Regionals. The southern regional Math Olympiad was aired in its entirety on PlusTV. It will reair this friday night.
