Resident of Punta Gorda found dead in Roaring Creek

Around 10:45 on Friday night, police say that they were called out to the river bank in the Hattie Ville area of Roaring Creek Village where they saw the body of 29 yr old Keith Sambula, clad in a blue ¾ jeans pants and a blue shirt. The body was lying face down with a large chop from the right side of his cheek to the lower back of his neck. Reports reaching plus news is that around 9:30 and 10pm, Keith Sambula, a resident of Punta Gorda was socializing with friends in the Hattie Ville area of Roaring Creek when a misunderstanding ensued among them. Residents who spoke with us off camera reported that the men were intoxicated and that the argument was over a funto leaf, the material used to roll and smoke marijuana. Sambula, they say produced a gun and fired some shots; after which the other men attacked him and in the process he was brutally chopped and then thrown on the river bank in the same area. Police say they have 4 men; all residents of Roaring Creek Village detained pending charges for Sambula’s murder.
