All visitors other than cruise ship visitors need a valid passport in order to visit Belize. To visit Belize you first need to obtain a 30 day VISA. If you intend to stay longer than 30 days, you can extend the VISA by paying $25 ($12.50USD) per month. After six months, a work permit is required. After staying in Belize for one full year, you can apply for permanent residency. If you wish to go that extra mile, you can apply for citizenship after living in Belize for five years.
